Childwatch Staff – Open Until Filled

POSITION TITLE: Child Watch Staff            BRANCH: Beaverton    
PAY GRADE:                      PAY RATE: $8.40
SUPERVISOR: Youth & Family Supervisor       
HOURS: Weekday and weekend availability (Shifts Vary)

General Function:
Child Watch Staff will report to the Youth & Family Supervisor and will work with other staff to create a fun and safe learning environment through creative play within the Child Watch program. Initiate an active environment for children via crafts, sensory activities, and gross motor movement games. Encouraging a supportive atmosphere for growth of the YMCA Mission and values.

Entry Requirements:
Minimum two years experience working with children preferred.
High School Degree preferred.
YMCA Babysitter training or equivalent a plus

Essential Functions Of Job:

"   Incorporate and Model our YMCA Christian principles into your work
"   Commit to establishing long-term relationships with staff, volunteers, participants, members and families.
"   Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with both members and staff.
"   Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and to act swiftly in emergency situations.
"   Ability to lift children up to 40lbs.
"   Ability to obtain and maintain CPR-PRO and first aid certifications. (Must obtain within 30 days of hire)

Job Segments:

"   Maintain program functions by informing supervisor of needed supplies and equipment.
"   Ability to obtain and maintain CPR-PRO, first aid certifications, and all other required trainings

"   Form essential relationships with staff, program participants, members, and parents.
"   Coordinate with Program Supervisor, on project ideas, newsletters, staff concerns, parent concerns, etc..
"   Other duties as requested by supervisor, such as subbing for related programs or other Y events.
"   Know emergency procedures at the Beaverton Family YMCA and document all accidents and incidents.
"   Adhere to policies and guidelines for the YMCA, and follow all rules outlined in the Child Watch Policy Manual, and Code of Conduct.
"   Attire includes black or khaki bottoms, staff shirt and nametag.
