Visiting Another YMCA
When you join a YMCA, you become part of a national movement of 20.2 million members in more than 2,600 local YMCA associations. Because each YMCA is an autonomous, not-for-profit and not a franchise local YMCA policies vary on the use of equipment, facilities, services and programs by visiting members from out-of-town or from nearby YMCAs.

YMCA of Columbia-Willamette
All of the YMCA of Columbia-Willamette health and wellness facilities participate in the AWAY program. That means that YMCA visitors from other cities can use our facilities seven times a year. After that, day rates apply. Please plan to bring your YMCA I.D. In the Portland and Vancouver metropolitan area, we have facilities in Vancouver, Beaverton, Sherwood and in downtown Portland. For individual location information, visit Health and Wellness.

Other YMCA Associations
If you plan to visit another YMCA in another area, it's a good idea to call that YMCA about visiting member policies.

While some YMCAs have no restrictions, others may have restrictions such as these:

  • Visits by members of YMCAs within 50 miles are limited to three per month
  • Visiting members may only use the facility at certain hours
  • Visiting members will be charged half the guest fee
  • Visiting Y members are restricted to a limited number of visits each year
